Sculpture for the J. Crayton Pruitt family Department of Biomedical Engineering
Digital Worlds created and managed an interdisciplinary team of artists and designers to create an original sculpture given to Dr. J. Crayton Pruitt. The sculpture was presented during a ceremony announcing his major gift of $10 million to the UF College of Engineering’s Biomedical Engineering Department. DW artist in residence Arturo Sinclair worked with UF sculptor Brad Smith to create this distinctive work of alabaster and surgical vanadium steel.
Pruitt’s gift is among the largest cash gifts received by UF. It is eligible for matching funds from the State of Florida Major Gift Trust Fund, which could result in a $20 million endowment for the newly named J. Crayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering.
